Nursing Team Services

Please note all clinics are by appointment only .

We have introduced some appointments with the nursing team bookable on line via My Health Online. 

The Practice Nursing Team

A full range of services are available, please tell the receptionist the reason for your appointment so that you can be booked in with the most appropriate team member. 

  • Blood tests for monitoring of certain medications -  e.g. warfarin, anticoagulant medications known as NOACs, thyroid and medication known as DMARDS, or at the request of members of the clinical team or hospital.  
     
  • Child Health and Immunisation Clinic Thursdays 
    Crymych  at 10am
    Newport at  2pm 
    Appointments are necessary for both clinics.
  • Contraception & Family Planning  All methods are available, and your needs will be addressed in full privacy and confidence. 
    Dr Anwen Evans is also able to provide coil fittings and implant appointments. Please ask reception for more details.
     
  • Chronic Disease Management & Monitoring for other conditions and certain medications 
    For example Diabetes, asthma and blood pressure monitoring appointments.  
     
  • Injections  - patients on regular injections as advised by a clinician, such as Prostap, Zoladex, Depo-provera, B12 
    Please note these injections are only given if advised by a Practice or Hospital clinician.
     
  • New Patients  All new patients are welcome to arrange a general health check up with the health care assistant
     
  • Vaccinations to eligible patient groups Flu Vaccinations including Nasal Flu for children,  Shingles vaccinations, Pneumococcal Vaccination

  • Women’s screening – Cervical smears are carried out by Practice Nurse: Kimberleigh Harries,  By appointment only  
    You will receive an invitation from Cervical Screening Wales on behalf of the Practice.
    Wound care - dressings, wound care and removal of stitches. 


The nursing team are also able to offer general health and lifestyle advice. 

Ear Syringing - We are no longer able to offer this service at the Practice. Apologies for inconvenience.
