Week commencing 26th October 2026.
If you normally receive two months worth of repeat medication and you are requesting or collecting a repeat prescription this week, your next prescription will be due Christmas week. The Practice will be closed on the public holidays, local pharmacies will have reduced opening hours, please mark you calender or your digital device to ensure you request and collect medication in good time
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
We are now using the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS). This means your prescription can be sent directly to your chosen pharmacy, without the need to collect a paper copy from the surgery
If you haven’t already nominated a pharmacy, please let us know and we can set this up for you.
Medical Students – September 2026
During September, we will be joined by medical students from Swansea University and Cardiff University. They will be spending time in the Practice to gain experience in General Practice and rural healthcare.
Students may sit in during consultations or be the first person you see. If you would prefer not to have a student present, just let us know — we completely understand.
Flu Vaccination Update – September 2026
We have started inviting patients who are eligible for the 2026 flu vaccine. Our flu clinics will begin in October.
If you are eligible, there is no need to wait for an invitation — please contact the Practice to book your appointment.
August 2026
The Practice will be closed Monday 31st August 2026 due to the Bank Holiday. If you require medical advice while we are closed please ring 111 or visit the NHS 111 Website.
5th August 2026
We have recently welcomed three new doctors to the team. Dr Okolie and Dr Hussien join us as GP Registrars, with us as part of their GP Training programme.
Dr Jakes joins us as a **Foundation Doctor**, on placement for four months to gain experience in Primary Care.
All three doctors are fully qualified and, after a short period of induction and shadowing our clinicians, will begin holding clinics across both Practice sites.

June 10th 2026 Appointment Text Reminders
Appointment text reminders have now resumed.
If we have your mobile number on record, you will receive a text message the day before your appointment confirming the date, time, who your appointment is with, and whether it is at the Newport or Crymych site.
If you do not receive a text reminder when you expect one, please let us know. We may need to update your contact details.
April 2026
Student Placements
We currently have two medical students on placement at the Practice Elin and Louis. Both students will be shadowing clinicians across our two Practice sites during their time with us.
1st April 2026
This week we have said goodbye to Dr Adharsh Kennedy who has been with us since December 2025.
Dr J Bean has now joined the Practice for a four month placement.
January 2026
5th January 2026 Both Preseli Practice sites are currently open as usual. There has been some snowfall in the Crymych area overnight, and the area around the Bro Preseli site maybe slippery underfoot. Please take care if travelling today.
December 2025
5th December 2025
This week we have said goodbye to Dr Matthew Smith who has been with us since August. Dr Adharsh Kennedy has now joined the Practice for a four month placement.
November 2025
20th November 2025 - Due to weather and road conditions we are unable to offer services from our Crymych site today. Limited services in Newport as many staff are unable to travel. Apologies for inconvenience. Please take care if you are out.
October 2025
27 October 2025 - Please note if you are requesting or collecting a repeat prescription for two months of medication this week, your next prescription will be due Christmas week. The Practice will be closed over the Christmas Bank Holidays and Community Pharmacies may have limited opening hours. Please mark your calendar or digital devices to request your prescriptions in good time. Prescriptions can be requested up to seven working days in advance.
