Teaching and Training at Preseli Practice
Preseli Practice is proud to be an approved training practice. We support the next generation of doctors and medical students by giving them valuable experience in a rural GP setting — and our patients play an important part in that learning.
You may meet different types of doctors during your visit:
GP Registrars Fully qualified doctors training to become GPs. They usually work with us for 6–12 months.
Foundation Year 1 Doctors (FY1) Fully qualified doctors gaining experience in Primary Care alongside their hospital work.
Foundation Year 2 Doctors (FY2) Fully qualified doctors who spend 4 months with us to learn more about General Practice.
All doctors receive an induction and then run their own clinics across both sites. They are always supervised by one of our GPs.
We host final‑year students from Cardiff University and Swansea University for placements lasting from one week to two months.
Students may sit in during your consultation or may be the first person you see. If you would prefer not to have a student present, just let us know — we completely understand.
All trainees follow strict NHS confidentiality rules. Your information is always protected.
By supporting training, we help shape confident, skilled future doctors — and it keeps our practice at the forefront of high‑quality patient care
